Diacetone alcohol (DAA)
- Used in the production of resins, waxes, lubricants, dyes, varnishes, coating compounds.
- Contained in wood preservatives; used in water treatment.
- Used as a solvent in consumer products such as adhesives, inks, paints; household cleaners.
- Also used in the manufacture of pesticides and other agrochemicals.
- In metal cleaning formulations, hydraulic press fluids and textiles.
Hexylene glycol (HG)
- Paints and coatings: Hexylene glycol can be used as a coalescing additive in water-based decorative paint formulations and as a bonding agent in water-based coatings for the industrial segment.
- In the construction industry, hexylene glycol is used as an additive to reduce shrinkage on drying (SRA) of concrete and in mortar.
- Industrial cleaners: hexylene glycol is a good solvent; it is effective for a variety of substances. This property allows it to be used in the manufacture of industrial cleaning agents.
- Perfumery and cosmetics: due to its moisturising properties, hexylene glycol is widely used in perfumery and cosmetics.
- It is found in skin and hair care products, soaps and eye cosmetics.
- Firefighting foams: Hexylene glycol is also used in firefighting foam formulations.
- Detergents and degreasers: Due to its high solubilising power, hexylene glycol is used in detergents and degreasers.
Isoforon (IPH)
- is used as a solvent in printing inks, paints, varnishes, lacquers, adhesives, copolymers, coatings, finishes and pesticides.
- It promotes dissolution and mixing of various substances, improves the quality and efficiency of the said products.
- It is a chemical intermediate in organic synthesis.
- Can be used to produce other compounds such as isophorondiamine, isophorondiisocyanate and para-chloro-meta-xylenol. These
- are used in the manufacture of polymers, resins, plastics and elastomers.
- In vinyl chloride and/or acetate-based protective coatings for the manufacture of metal cans and other paints for metal surfaces.
- As an ingredient in wood preservatives and floor sealants. Protects wood from rot and insects and enhances the durability and appearance of floor coverings.
Methylisobutylcarbinol (MIBC)
- MlBC is widely used as a flotation agent in the extraction of
- ores such as copper and molybdenum sulphide, as well as coal.
- It is often used as a "foaming agent" in the mineral flotation process.
- It is also used in the electronics industry in the manufacture of semiconductors.
- It is used in the manufacture of lubricating oil additives.
- It is a precursor of some plasticisers.
- Used as a solvent for ethylcellulose, oils, waxes, dyes and other natural resins.
Phosphorus pentasulphide (PPS)
- It is an intermediate product in the production of organophosphorus pesticides of technical quality.
- Used to produce phosphorus-based additives, such as zinc dithiophosphates (ZDDP), which are lubricant additives in engines and other equipment.
- Used in the manufacture of chemicals for the mining industry.
- Used in the manufacture of pesticides such as parathion and malathion, which are organophosphate compounds that kill insects and other pests.
- Used to produce polymers with a forbidden energy band, such as poly(isothianaftene), which are organic semiconductors that conduct electricity under certain conditions.
Mesityloxide (MO)
- Used as a solvent for synthetic fibres and rubbers, oils, gum, resins, carburettor cleaners, lacquers, polishes, inks and stains and as a synthetic food flavouring agent.
- Acts as a paint remover and insect repellent in the fragrance, perfume and pharmaceutical industries.
- It is a solvent and is used in the production of methyl isobutyl ketone by hydrogenation.
Trimethylcyclohexanone (TMC NONE)
- Pharmaceuticals: is an intermediate in the synthesis of various pharmaceutical substances.
- Coatings and paints: used as a solvent for varnishes, polishes, paints, vinyl resins and other coatings. It promotes levelling, provides gloss and surface cleanliness.
- Polymers: is a monomer for speciality polycarbonate.
- Peroxides: used in the production of peroxides which serve as initiating agents for polymerisation.
Trimethylcyclohexanol (TMC NOL)
- Used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals.
- Included in PVC and other polymer inks and additives.
- Used as a precursor of the vasodilator cyclandelate, a homosalate of the sunscreen component and a nerve agent
- OM. Can be synthesised by hydrogenation of isophorone.
- Also used in perfumes (FEMA 3964) and in the preparation of derivatives of cosmetic use such as acetates and salicylates
Bisphenol-S (BPS)
- Thermal paper: BPS is used in the production of thermal paper as a colour developer.
- Epoxy resin adhesive: BPS is commonly used for curing fast drying epoxy resin adhesive.
- Polymer reactions: also widely used as a reagent in polymer reactions.
- Food Contact Materials: BPS is used in food contact material formulations as a substitute for bisphenol A (BPA).
- Synthetic polymers: It is a monomer for synthetic polymers such as polyethersulfone (PES) and polysulfone (PSU) and is also used in food contact epoxy resins.
PRA EXT TMT-15
- Heavy metal acceptor: forms stable complexes with univalent and divalent metal ions that precipitate; is usually a heavy metal acceptor. Is very effective against mercury, cadmium, copper, lead, zinc, silver and nickel.
- Water Purification: TMT-15 is used to purify contaminated water from heavy metals.
- It is used for purification of flue gases produced by incinerators.
- Polyphosphoric acid
- A catalyst in the production of chemicals such as detergents, fertilisers and pharmaceuticals.
- Widely used in agriculture and is a slow-release fertiliser, it is also used as a salt in fertilisers, paints, and in the refining of sugar and petroleum.
- A food additive that is a preservative (e.g. in cola and jams) and an emulsifier.
- A water purifier used to remove impurities.
- Fire retardant.
- Cleaning and polishing additive for metals - used as an electrolyte, in semiconductors and as a chelating agent in household cleaners.
Chloric acid
- Used in the computer industry to etch liquid crystal displays and clean critical electronic equipment.
- Chloric acid is a reagent for etching metals such as aluminium, molybdenum, titanium and other metals.
- Chloric acid is used to clean laboratory glassware and other equipment.
Phosphorus pentoxide
- As an intermediate in the production of phosphoric acid esters, which are used as surfactants, hydraulic fluids and plasticisers.
- As a dehydrating additive (the most effective desiccant at temperatures below 100°C) in the production of phosphoric acid.
- It is an important raw material for the manufacture of pigments and pharmaceuticals.
- It is also a vital component of the Onodera reagent, which is widely used in the oxidation of alcohols. In addition, it can be used to convert some mineral acids into their anhydrides.
Bitumen emulsifier
- Bitumen emulsifier is a surfactant that helps to stabilise the dispersion of bitumen droplets in water.
- Emulsifiers are necessary for the production of bitumen emulsions, which are widely used in road construction and maintenance.
- The action of bitumen emulsifiers is to adsorb bitumen droplets on the surface and create a charge. This charge helps to repel the droplets from each other and prevent them from merging. In addition, the emulsifier reduces the interfacial tension between the bitumen and water phases, which further improves emulsion stability.
PRAPHOS FR-100/103 (ammonium polyphosphate)
- Ammonium polyphosphate is used in various industries such as food additives, emulsifiers and fertilisers.
- Tayuke is a flame retardant with multiple applications: it is used in the production of paints and coatings and is also incorporated into various polymers.
- For example, it is used as a flame retardant in polyolefins, especially polypropylene, as well as in thermosetting materials such as unsaturated polyesters and gel coatings, epoxy resins and* polyurethane moulded samples.
PRA-EXT BEHP
- Mainly used as plasticiser in the production of PVC and other plastics.
- It is also a solvent in the synthesis of plastics.
- It is also used as an extracting agent for salts of uranium and rare earth metals.
Tributyl phosphate (TWP)
- It is used in solvent form in ink formulations, synthetic resins, gum, glue, herbicide concentrates and fungicides.
- THF is also found in cellulosic fabrics such as cotton as a flame retardant.
- It is used as a component of aviation hydraulic and brake fluid.
- In addition, THF is a solvent for the extraction and purification of rare earth metals from ores such as uranium and plutonium.
